Shanahan Exposes the Jets

Shanahan looked at the Jet film from the NE and TN game and came away thinking..." wait a second, there isn't a #1 WR on that team"...so he just played man on the outside and then put 8-9 guys in the box to stop the run and take away the quick slants and swing passes....every team has followed that blueprint since then, and the Jet offense has been terrible since that game against Denver.....

Mangini and Schottenheimer are much more responsible for stopping this offense than Shanahan is.

OH please.....that defense was exposed back in the NE game...they had no pass rush in that game...that is the game Calvin Pace disappeared for the rest of the season...and if you remember the TN game, Collins had wide open receivers all day...they just couldn't catch and dropped a lot of passes...their tight end was open a few times....and now we see that Kris Jenkins is breaking down in the 2nd half of the season and is a non factor so that's why the run defense is terrible now as well....

Easy, our guys are a big-stick defense; that works best when your offense has the momentum or lead. Once we gave the lead to them, the Broncs got hot and it was even-steven, with Cutler making the difference. Once the Jets were on their heels, even Tom Rathmann Jr. got rolling downhill.

The defense seems like it is trying too hard to strip the ball rather than tackle.

Also remember the Broncos scored two kinda flukey touch downs in that game.

I totally agree. Everyone is asking what changed for the Jets after the Titans game. The fact is nothing changed. The Jets have made no adjustments and teams know how to defend them. Teams took away Keller and the short game. They know Farve can't go long consistently. The Jets went with short passes pretty much the entire game against the Titans and Denver took that away.

The problem was after the Tenn. game the Jets read the news clippings just like we did. They didn't know how to play or respond to being the "#1 team in the AFC" and it's shown since then.
