So, what did Favre end up costing?

    Was it a 2nd, 3rd or 4th? I don't recall.

    3rd rounder

maybe the jets can trade him to the vikes and get their third round pick back

    Mangini's Job.

3rd Rounder, it's going to be something like 81st overall. Not bad at all, really.

And no, the poison pills in that trade I'm sure still apply. Doesn't mean if Favre wants to play that we can't find another QB-needy team though, although I doubt we would do so.

    The hope was worth it

I still think the hope I felt when Brett became a Jet was worth the 81st pick. But for god sakes lets move on from Brett. I hope all this we want Farve back is a respect thing and not real.

Basically, we can't trade him to an NFC North team and if he retires we get a 7th rounder from GB, IIRC.

    Zing!

Eric Mangini's job as well (along with the rest of the coaching staff)

    Good one.

So the Jets gave away a 3rd rd pick for a 9-7 record. Wouldn't Noodle Arm have gotten the Jets to 9-7? 8-8? Looks like a wasted 3rd rd pick to me.

Oh. So you're saying he cost the Jets the same as what he cost the Pats. Hmmm... maybe he was worth it after all. :D

PennyBoy would have won the Raiders, 49ers and Seahawk games.

The way he played this year, the Jets would have walked away with the AFCE at 12-4.

And he would have lost the Tennessee, New England, and Arizona games.

And we'd still be out of the playoffs, and the Pats would be division champions instead.

    What's your point?

And the Jets would have lost the Pats and Titans game, and most likely gotten hurt at some point in the season so Clemens could crap the bed as his replacement.....

10-6 and another first round loss in the playoffs....

Not to mention that he probably would have cost us the Cardinals game- I doubt he would have thrown 6 TD's as Favre did.
