    My Vacation in Paris.

just thought i should share my vacation with some of you and mainly this is for anyone interested in taking a vacation to Paris, and anyone who is interested in photography. i know some of people wont care and you just like ruining peoples day but this is to the people that do care.

I got to Paris on the day after Christmas. It took about 8 hours to get from atlanta to Paris. the Jet-lag isnt to bad if you dont go to still until you normally would. So if you get to Paris at 10am and thats 4am east coast time, dont go to bed until 8pm or later Paris time. If you do that you wont have any more jet-lag for the rest of the trip if you do that. Well Paris is great, its kinda weird hearing a different language everywhere you go and its sucks not being able to understand what they say. But also if you try to speak french to people and waitress and etc the will appericate it and be more willing to speak english. but if you start speaking english to them and expect them to speak english they wont speak it and will look down on you. A ton of people smoke cigs here. Paris is alot different than the US in some cool ways and some not so cool ways. There is a bunch of graffti every where you go. Also there are no speed limits which is kinda cool but really strange. They have a metro system which is very reliable and very handy. Also cops travel in packs of 3s for some reason. i went to see the mona lisa today and then say the eiffel tower from a far and im going to see it up close and see the Arc tomorrow. ive also done some other cool things and ive gonna to Norte Dome and so other places as well. Parking you car is very expensive, it can cost up to 1.5 million american in some places. OH! i also went to the catacombs which was very cool but creepy. the exchange rate is kinda annoying its at 1.3 right now. So if a shirt is 24 euros its about 35 american. Also there is no tax on anything you buy so if something and its 24 euros then its 24 euros not $27.56 or something like that.

Also the Eiffel Tower is lit up in Blue until because the president of france is the president of the european union or something like that.

So here are some pics we have taken so far hope you enjoy them!

I loved Paris. I was just there last Sept/Oct for about a week. I took about 1000 photos which I'm still sorting out. The city really beautiful. So much culture Id love to go back again but also explore the rest of France.

if you want to go up the Eiffel tower go early in the morning, there is almost no line, it's one hell of a wait during the day.

The most unique church in Paris is Saint Chappelle, on the Ile de Cite, about 2 blocks from Notre Dame. The upper chapel is entirely stained glass windows on 3 walls, absolutely unbelievable on a sunny day.

    Great spot for a photographer...

Great call, Ed. My second favorite church in Paris (Sacre Coer my favorite).

Interesting, during WWII, they took out all the stained glass windows, crated them up, put up wood in their place and hid them in the basement till the war was over.

Stunning colors. And nobody goes there because everyone is on Notre Dame.

It's the church to impress people with, for sure. It amazes me how many people have been to Paris on several occasions who've never even heard of Saint Chappelle, let alone been inside of it. Of course, you could walk right by it without even knowing it's there, but still...

And SC is great at night, sitting on the steps, eating bread, drinking wine, watching the sun go down over the city and watching everything light up - nice.

SC is just so serene inside. Dark, quiet with the mosaic of Christ and the Sacred Heart. Very nice.

Monte Matre is a GREAT place to hang out for an afternoon. Bought an original oil from one of the street artists for about 50 euro, he did it in about an hour while we sat at a cafe and downed a bottle of wine. Damn I like Paris.

We had no idea that it was even there, but some locals told us NOT to miss San Chappelle. They told us it's one of those out-of-the-way places that nobody goes to and it's about a 2 minute walk from Notre Dame right on Isle de la Cite.

Stunning blues and reds and purple soaring stained glass. Prettiest I've seen anywhere in the world and that includes the best of Italy, Germany or Belgium.

You'd shoot dozens of photos there, and with what you can do with colors, I'd love to see them.
