Adam Schefter on Jets QB situation

Rex Grossman? REALLY!?!?! What is with these people's fascination with "experience?" Dont bother with the fact that he played and has proven to stink no all that matters is that he played. So we cant go into training camp with only Kellen and Ratliff we need Grossman to waste time taking valuable snaps away from them?

He was just throwing a name out there. He said that there were plenty out there...dont exactly buy that, but still.

What I did like was that he just reported on NFLN that there is talk that Rex is going to try to lure Ray Lewis here to set the tone and be the on field leader here in NY.

No thanks to Rex... It isn't even worth throwing that name out there. What is the point in having experience if you suck every time you play.

And No thanks to Ray either. He's not the same.

Grossman is awful...I mean the last five weeks of the season Favre kind of bad without the age or injury as an excuse. I would rather go into the season with Clemens or Ratliff and a conservative offense then throw our season away entirely by starting Grossman.

Ray Lewis is not the same? Really? Did you see the speed and agility he played with this year? Please, our LB core is just > than little old Ray Lewis. You guys are nuts.

The guy is the greatest on-field leader in football today, and a lot better than the LBs we have. But hey if you want Eric Barton in there that's fine.

i don't want ray lewis. i'd rather have bart scott playing the outside. he is too old and i've had enough with the signing of older players in their twilight years. as far as rex grossman? i'd rather try to sign david carr..some people have been bashing carr, and rightfully so in some cases. but remember, he had no O-line from the start of his career and no formidable running attack. i think if anyone were going to compete for a job in training camp with the "other" qbs we have, it should be him. i think he has a lot to prove, and grossman has had too many chances and has still come out sucking.

It's a virtual lock that Coach Gruden will bring Chris Simms with him to Florham Park. This is going to be one fun season.

I'm not sure how I feel about the idea of Ray Lewis coming into town as the "New Sheriff"? Don't we have enough veterans on the team that can assume that role? Anyway, how long would Ray actually be a Jet? He probably has 2-3 more "good" seasons left in him. I'd rather see Rex Ryan find his new, young player to have that type of role in setting the tone on defense and in the locker room.

I know this has nothing to do with QB's or Ray Lewis.
But....
I would love if The Jets went after.
T.J. Houshmandzadeh, UFA, Cincinnati Bengals
Although there is no way IMO Cincinnati lets him go..

I'm obviously not a fan of Grossman, but I would like to see a somewhat proven option thrown into the competition, preferably one with some upside like a Derek Anderson.

The only thing both proved is that they suck.

It's not over. Woody will see the light and demote Ryan to Assistant HC & Defensive Coordinator under Gruden.
