ESPN Radio: Jets, Tanny interested in Ryan Fitzpatrick

No link, just heard it on the radio.

In one of their last updates, so literally a one liner "Jets and Mike Tannenbaum interested in Quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick, who won three games as a starter last year for the Cinncinati Bengals".

No interest. Rat v. Clemens v. Ainge.

    Ryan Fitzpatrick is horrible.

That's one Harvard grad who'd be better off living off Mommy and Daddy's trust fund then trying to pass himself off as a QB in the NFL. If he's Tannenbaum's idea of a veteran insurance policy then either Rat or Kelly better be the real deal.

I didn't know Fitzpatrick shaved his head bald.

I'd like to see Ryan Fitzpatrick in competition with Patrick Fitzryan and Fitz Ryanpatrick!

It never did say what level of interest they had in him. It could be the team is not ready to give the reigns to Ratliff or Ainge and has a deep concern that a rookie may not be ready opening day. This way it could be a battle between Clemens and Fitz for a roster spot and a stop gap until Rookie/Ratliff/Ainge is ready to take over.

That reminds me of the gay Irish couple - Gerald Fitzpatrick and Patrick Fitzgerald.

They're only interested because the coach likes people named Ryan.

This guarantees that Clemens or Ratliff will be starting. Fitz is a 3rd stringer at best.

I don't think that's such a great thing. Rosie O'Donnell could beat out Ryan Fitzpatrick in a TC competition.

Ryan Fitzpatrick had better numbers starting for a horrible Bengals team in '08 than Kellen Clemens had starting for a horrible Jets team in '07.

    just saying.

    2008 Ryan Fitzpatrick 8 tds 9 ints 59.4 completion %

    2007 Kellen Clemens 5 tds 10 ints 52.0 completion %

As horrific as Harvard-boy is he could actually beat out scrub Kellen in TC. And people think Favre sucks.

Id rather sign a true veteran that might teach our kids a thing or two than bring in Fitzpatrick a relative youngster who has already reached his ceiling in potential.
