i already have a everyday watch. Plus I work in the OR, so my hands always being washed and getting dirty so I dont want to ruin a nice watch. I want something only for formal occasions (weddings, etc.) Like i said, that is a nice watch but that'll run way over 5K
I got a watch just like that one in China Town for 25 bucks. This is a depression. Get with the times!

I agree, it is a depression. However, some are feeling it more than others. I am lucky enough to be in a secure career. I apologize if others are offended by this thread.

This is what I wear. 1969 Omega Seamaster Deville. My dad got it when he graduated college and gave it to me when I graduated. Solid gold, not too heavy, and only need to wind it once a week. Keeps fantastic time.

I've got a hamilton ventura watch, as seen as in Men in Black. It's a copy of Hamilton Pacer watches from 50's. I can't tell you how many people ask to look at it.

    QFT

Spend $300 at most on the watch and invest the rest in Asian hookers and herion. You'll thank me later.

Thanks. Guess it's kind of an heirloom now. The only thing wrong with it is that the crystal is acrylic and slightly scratched. I'm not going to replace it because it's the original crystal and still has the tiny Ω right in the middle. Tough to see without a loupe.

    Honest Question....

Besides being made of 24K gold, or having a s*it load of diamonds, what the hell makes a watch worth 5 grand?
