I posted a similar thread a few years ago and got many responses. I wound up going with the Rolex Sub that Locke posted. It's perfect for everyday use as well as formal occasions. I think it's the retail on it is around $6K now but you can get it for under $5K from a good gray market dealer.

If this is in fact true, you can't go wrong buying this watch. Mine cost 3200 a little over 15 years ago, keeps perfect time, is worn every day and still looks new.

I must admit, when I was at the Geneva airport I was floored by the beautiful watches. I did buy a watch in switzerland, only 400 bucks though. I promptly lost it on a flight from Chicago to Milwaukee. It was my 20th anniversary present:(
This is what I wear. 1969 Omega Seamaster Deville. My dad got it when he graduated college and gave it to me when I graduated. Solid gold, not too heavy, and only need to wind it once a week. Keeps fantastic time.

Very nice! I have two from that year, a sparkle silver dialed Seamaster day/date caliber 750 and the much rarer gold textured dial Seamaster day/date with the Constellation caliber 751. That one is only gold-plaque though.

If you Google image "1969 seamaster cal 751 wetworks" most of the day/dates that show are mine. Few of the other watches there are mine, some others I sold.

Paulie, what do you have in your collection?
