Saw that. :D

Hey was there ever any confirmation to the rumor that Jeter gave Jessica Alba herpes? If so I want him dead worse than Brady.

I've actually been doing some preliminary window shopping for my graduation gift next year. I like the Breitlings from a looks standpoint, but I don't know a whole lot about the things.

I like the Chronomat, but with a steel face however.

The Skyracer is a good looking one too.

Still not completely sold on the idea of having a watch that runs a few grand, so I doubt I actually go through in asking the parents, but we'll see.

    Bump

I'm graduating from Cornell in 15 days and my parents expressed interest in getting me a watch as a gift.

This is slightly out of my parents price range. Anything in the $3-5k range with similar styles as the Lange & Sohne:
The Rolex is a fantastic choice and a watch you'll have for the rest of your life. But just to give you an idea of what else is out there -

I imagine most people here don't like the brown one, but I really dig it.

I got a TAG Aquaracer, retails for 1500 and I got it for 1200 on amazon, much reasonable then 3-4K. Very nice watch for everyday use and for formal.

Couldnt be happier with it and know 3 people with rolex watches all of whom arent happy with them.

Only slightly, huh? Heh. For the same style within your budget, look at IWC, Tag, Omega, Longines, maybe Jaeger LeCoultre.

As soon as I can figure out how to strap them to wrist and wear them out in public, I'm doing it. I just picked up a nice side by side 28 cubic foot fridge with icemaker and sh*t...a screaming deal off of CL. Dude bought it for his wife, only to find out that it didn't fit in his kitchen (he was too dumb to realize that all he had to do was swap a couple of his cabinets around and it would have fit, but I wasn't about ready to point that out to him)...:P

If I'm buying a 1k piece of jewelry, it's gonna be for the wife and it's gonna get me some head.

I own the Breitling and I wear it a lot. I guess I'm just not a Rolex guy.
