    Official NHL 2009 Playoffs Thread

Alright, not quite the playoffs just yet, but looks like a couple battles for the last spot in the East and the West.

In the East, although Buffalo isn't officially eliminated, they're all but out of it. Last spot down to FLA and NYR. FLA is at Philly tonight, at Atlanta on Thursday, and host Washington on Saturday. NYR hosts Montreal tonight, hosts Philadelphia on Thursday, and then at Philly on Sunday (Philly coming off a game at Isles the day before). Looks like the Flyers will have a lot to say about who gets the last spot! Tough schedule for both teams. Maybe FLA with the slight advantage, having to play ATL?

In the West, down to Nashville, St. Louis, Minnesota, and Edmonton for the last spot.

Big win by the Rangers last night over Montreal, coupled with a Panther loss, to put them in good position for the last playoff spot in the East.

Edmonton officially eliminated last night in the West chase.

Jeez, I started the "Official 2009 NHL Platoffs" thread last week, but didn't put the *** at the front and back. That must be the difference maker.

I filled out this NHL Playoff Challenge bracket on NHL.com, and went to check my predictions, and it didn't register. Oh well.

Anyway, I haven't paid a bit of attention to the NHL this year, especially the Western Conf.

I do think, though, that the most intriguing matchup is the 1-8 in the East with Boston and Montreal. They always play each other tough. I think the B's win a tough series in 6. Even though its the 1-8 matchup, I think it will be a very entertaining series.

    Washington in 6
    Canes in 7
Pitt in 5. (Seems like Philly's been playing like ass lately).

It doesn't matter - the content is the same!

Maybe a thread merge! Although I doubt a mod will see this, as you, me, and the wall are about the only people who read this forum anyway!

LOL, very true. Well, I bumped your thread so we can move our discussion to that thread and hopefully the others will follow.

Ill take my stab at the West-

    Sharks and Det in 4
Chicago in 6, and I forget the other teams...

As far as the East, Bruins-Habs should be a good series, and Devs-Canes should be good. Canes are HOT coming in to the playoffs, and the Devs always play pretty damn good in the post season.
