OK, take a look below. What I'm saying is every year, when it's all said and done, you're looking at 2-3 solid players you're getting on average. If you get 2 big time stars you've achieved your goal.

If Sanchez and Greene are as good as most people think they will be, (including myself) the Jets just had an A+ draft a la Revis and Harris.

I love both these players. This team finally has an identity. A winning skilled technician for a QB and a smash-mouth running attack and defense.

    4 players worth noting
Thank you, I am getting so frustrated with the negativity of this board. 1/2 of the league is undrafted free agents. If Green becomes a McNeil or close, and Sanchez is a bust it still would be an OK draft. Imagine for ONE stinkin minute that Sanchez becomes only as good as O'Brien and Green becomes a McNeil or Martin. Your post is well taken but many of the fans here will trash you anyway.
Normally I'd agree but these where really really bad picks for us. We trade up to 5 for a QB that would have gone 10 and pass on Crabtree for him. Stupid no matter how you say it. If you trade up it sould be for the BPA not a guy that is a mirror image of a guy you already have on your roaster. And we give up Ratliff here too which macks it 5 times worse because he could be a better QB. Then we could go for Gilbert in the 3rd but instead pass for a RB that would have likely fallen to us were we where. Stupid. We have no DEs on this team and we not only pass up on a good one but trade away the average one we already have. I hope everyone enjoys watching Thomas and Gholston playing DE next year. SAD it is just sad. Oakland and Denvers bad drafts have nothing no the crap we picked. F plane and simple this is an F draft. Worst on the boards.

We just picked up a 'franchise' QB, there is a lot more to no depth than just not winning the superbowl one year. What happens if dbrick and another olineman go down early next year. Depth is important.
I look at our draft and we could have had...Maclin...at #17...Mccoy at #52..at #76 we would have a number of directions to go...OL depth would have been my choice and then a blocking TE in the 4th...

the problem is that the average nfl player lasts about 4 seasons. since the roster is around 45, that means they need to rotate 10 players per year. now if you get 2-3 very good to great players each draft and then fill them out with jags then you would be doing pretty well.
