If the Knicks can't get Lebron next summer the next target has to be Carmelo - not Wade. He won't be a free agent next summer but the 2010-2011 season is the last year of his deal and no doubt he'll be looking to go to a big market like NYC to get the big bucks endorsement deals he can't get in Denver (plus he's an east coast guy).
Wade is a great player too but he's way too injury prone and with the Knicks' rotten luck he'll be averaging 50 games a season here. This postseason Carmelo has asserted himself as a top 10 player who can do it all. Walsh can package David Lee, Gallinari, a couple expiring contracts and picks.
