Lighthouse zoning hearing conflicts with Isles' KC game
Katrina Doell reported on the Lighthouse Project blog that the Town of Hempstead has scheduled the zoning hearing for Sept. 22.
If this date sounds familiar, it should. That's the same day the Islanders are scheduled to play a exhibition game in Kansas City, which has an NHL-ready arena, but no team.
Islanders owner Charles Wang said recently in an interview with WFAN's Mike Francesa that he planned to make the trip to Kansas City. That probably can't happen now since Wang will need to be at the important zoning hearing.
There will be three sessions (9:30 a.m.-1 p.m., 2-5 p.m. and 6-9 p.m.). The hearing will be held at the Adams Playhouse on Hofstra's campus.
