New guitar amp just delivered. What should I get for test drive?

Stayed home today because I knew amp was coming. Due to slight alcoholic thang, I pretty much always celebrate things with booze. What should I pick up at liquor store for my soon to be solo jam fest.

Bourbon (this would be the rock and roll thing to do, but I'm getting a little long in the tooth)

Beer (maybe Free's suggestion of Octoberfest, or maybe just cheap cans of Pabst or Genesee Cream Ale)

Wine (I'm leaning this way, I fear I'm turning into a ghey)

What amp did you get? As for the test drive, I would play some Who tunes like "The Seeker" , "Pinball Wizard" or "Young man's Blues" from Live at Leeds.

Why do you think wine is gay? It's probably the most complex alcoholic drink, with the most variety of tastes. It's kind of chilly today, so go with a French Bordeaux or Côtes du Rhône, or a California Cabernet if you like a Bordeaux style wine with more oak.

    Have a blast.

Nice choice on both fronts. Let us know how that thing sounds after the test flight. It looks really sharp/retro, too.

A lot of amps are going back to the 50's tweed look.

I even had someone make me a new guitar that looks old. Sounds stupid, but it feels broken in when you play it.

True. I almost bought this Epiphone Blues Custom. Even my Line 6 looks slightly throwback.

Borgo- good call. I've been buying (and drinking ) a LOT of this lately.

I'd have to say, probably gotta go with the Bourbon. Straight out of the bottle. It just seems right.

Admittedly, however, I am neither a guitarist nor a heavy bourbon drinker.

Still an under-appreciated French appellation, which allows you to buy a great quality wine for a lower price. If you like Côtes du Rhône, check out an even better value with Côtes du Ventoux, which is also a Rhône style wine. I was first introduced to both spectacular wines as a culinary student in France.

Let's start a JI band. I want to play bass.

We can start with Whippin post and One Way Out if the Allmanns are what you are into.

Thanks, Dr. Z. I like both CTM and PAC, and wish they'd make nice.
