Fresca is a little too pedestrian for my pallete.

I've moved on to Diet Dr. Pepper Cherry.

I am not a fan of diet soda, but I find Diet A&W Root Beer and Diet Canada Dry Ginger Ale to be almost as good as the regular stuff.

Bota Box Old Vine Zinfandel and the Bota Box Redvolution is pretty good.

I have not tried their white wines.

Had a bottle of this Bridlewood Blend 175 over the weekend.

By God, it SUCKS. Do NOT buy this crap. It's a blend of Syrah, Cab Sauv, and Zinfandel. How they managed to take all the flavor and robustness out of those three varities is truely amazing. Maybe they should be commended, then. Wine Advocate gave it an 89, so don't trust any rating by those hacks. I choked down two glasses of this flavorless ****, and had a pounding headache for 12 hours.

I brought both the Bota Old Vine Zin and this Black Box cab on the last crusie i went on... both were pretty good.

Think I prefered the black box, though...

Had a bottle of this over the weekend. Not bad at all, and about $15 a bottle. Almost like an Apothic Red 2010, but a bit more subtle.

My girlfriend buys the whites in the smaller boxes. They are pretty good, and very convenient since we are mainly red drinkers. This allows us to not have to crack open a whole bottle. I forget which we have had though, ill look into the next.

Just got back from taking my wife on a 9 day trip to San Fran/Napa/Sonoma for her 40th birthday. We visited 9 wineries in 6 days and drank some of the most iconic wines in the California.

Here's where we hit...all were awesome.

    Sonoma:
    -Jordan
    -Flowers

    Napa:
    -St. Supery
    -Raymond
    -Duckhorn
    -Joseph Phelps
    -Quintessa/Faust
    -Palmaz
    -Grgich Hills

When the hell did I miss this post? I've been thinking of a Napa/Sonoma trip for years. Duckhorn 'sposedly makes a fantastic red blend. How was the food? Did you stay in Napa/Sonoma? Man, must have cost you an arm and leg.

This is what I meant to post - The Apothic Red 2010 is a pretty decent wine. Over the weekend, I saw Apothic White 2010. Picked it up to try it, and let me just say it is AWFUL. Like they threw in 6 tablespoons of sugar in the bottle. Nasty. Do not drink.

It would be pricey for me to "recreate" your itinerary. I love all those wines. Grgich and St Supery especially. Damn.

EDIT: what is Flowers? is that the one with the duck pond?

Ever been to the Livermore wineries - oncest, we had a co. field trip there and got happy (Mitchell Katz etc.) on our way to a fine dining experience at the winery at the end (forget the name of the place)

Had a bottle of this last night. Not bad at all. Kind of a cross of crisp sauvignon blanc with some of the oak from a chardonney. A medium bodies white, I would say. Less than $15, saw it in a Shaws in VT for $10.

Had a bottle of this on Saturday night, along with filet mignon. Delicious.

Duckhorn Paraduxx 2009. Wine is very good, a bit on the sweet side, but balanced from start to finish. If I remember correctly, its 65% zinfandel, although it tastes like it's 65% cabernet.
