    Anthony Schlegel

What are the chances Mangini gives him another shot?

    Just a passing thought.

When the only reason you are drafted is because you followed around a higher-round draft bust on every play, you know you suck...

Unlikely - we don't own his rights, so he can't trade anyone for him.

We'll see if Mangini can get him out of the UFL. It's a process.

Why let Mangini have him back?

We need to sign this beast!

if remember correctly, when watching the draft, DeAngelo Williams was still on the board.

the Jets were about to draft, am on the edge of my seat hoping the selection will be DeAngelo Williams.

and the New York Jets select.... Anthony Schlegel, linebacker, Ohio State University

Look how far the guy has to extend his arm to give the thumbs up on top of the thing. Depth perception, oldest trick in the book.

That thing is enormous. And what the hell did the kid shoot it with? It looks like he's holding a paintball gun.

D'Angelo Williams was selected in the first round. Schlegel in the 3rd.

Williams went too late, Schlegel shouldn't have been drafted at all.

We could have drafted any of these guys instead of Schlegel:

    Jerious Norwood RB - ATL
    Owen Daniels TE - HOU
    Max-Sean-Gilles G - PHI
    Brandon Marshall WR - DEN

That's just notables through round 4.

We did get Leon though, and Eric Smith. Looking back, the 3rd and 4th rounds that year were terrible.

Eric Smith was a reach at the time, many thought he could have gone undrafted. BUT... he is still playing in the league at a decent level, therefore he was a successful pick IMO.

Hindsight is always 20-20. The Schlegel pick is a very small blemish on an otherwise very good track record for Tanny.
