I think I'm going to be alone in this, but after initially being put off by them I'm actually starting to dig the striped pants/socks design of the Broncos throwbacks. I don't like the color scheme but after getting somewhat used to the look, I find myself torn. I find the stripes surprisingly effective (but still somewhat goofy).
I wouldn't be caught dead wearing that crap out in public, but strictly as on field gear, I think they get points for being fresh and eye catching. I couldn't find a picture that conveys this, but when a group of the Broncos players were running together, the socks to me conveyed the image of a stampeding herd of horses' galloping legs. Pretty cool.
It's easy to dismiss something outside of the norm as ugly, but occasionally if you allow yourself to get past the initial strangeness you may discover a new found appreciation.
(but then again sometimes ugly is just plain ugly).
Finally found a pick of someone going with the swirl effect. I was beginning to think I'd imagined it.
I wonder if the "No Fun League" puts the brakes on the swirl... I'm thinking yes.
