But obviously we're hoping there is no Game 7
I'll pitch out of the pen before AJ.

He has a settling down period even when he's on....

Yes, what a gutless performance he had in game 2 as well.

I'll take that deal right now .. in a heartbeat
There is minimal difference between 3 qnd 4 games rest at this point. AJ's problem last night had nothing to do with rest. It had nothing to do with arm strength or velocity. He was erratic an inconsistent as he has been all season long.

    +1

It had nothing to do with the short rest. AJ said he felt strong.

    THAT WAS NOT AN ABERRATION

We've seen AJ crap the bed just like that in the regular season, so we can't blame it on short rest.

BTW, ARod said the other day that he made a mental adjustment at the plate after her 0-fers in the 1st 2 game in comitting to only swinging at strikes. He said he was swinging at too many balls.

Why can't Tex do the same thing? Seriously. If he would stop swinging at balls, he'd be in great shape.

Pedro pitched a good game in a losing effort in Game 2, same way CC did in game 1.

can we please pitch Utley inside and stop throwing fastballs right over the plate. i think after 5 hrs they should change their strategy

Big difference is that Pedro is lucky to go 6. Make him work, get to the phillies bullpen, series over.

With the way Howard has hit, the Yankees have no business pitching to Utley at all. If he ever gets one decent pitch, they are massively screwing up. Hit him with pitches a la A-Rod for all I care, just don't pitch to the guy. He has literally been the entire Phillies offense.

Can't argue with that. Bust him inside.

Put up 2-3 runs in the 1st, and Pedro will be gone before the 5th.

The turning point in game 6 could be the 1st inning.

If Pettite can get out of the top half with no runs and Pedro give up a couple in the bottom, there'll be champagne celebrations at the end of the night.

All I'm looking for is for Pettite to give the Yanks 5 innings of 1-2 run ball. If the Yankee offense does it's job, the Yanks should be leading by at least 5 to 2 at the end of the 5th.

It amazes me how there is not a single hard thrower in the Philly's pitching staff this Series. The Bugs Bunny changeup can go so far.

    Completely agree with this...

Its crazy how they just keep giving him fastballs down the pipe to drill...

Take a page of Manuel's book and bust the guy way inside...

Supposed to rain on Thurs, but it's irrelevant cuz the Yanks will win tomorrow.

Philly is lucky that games are only 9 innings - the series would be over if the Yanks had a few more chances yesterday. NY is such a better team.

    Just a non-fan's perspective. I don't see NY choking.

I'd love to see the Yankees slap the old-man abuser Pedro Martinez around tonight. Would be the cherry on top of our World Series ceremony.

Two tickets are available for Nat'l Guard/Reservists who are willing to show up in uniform and have a purple heart if any servicemembers here are interested. I guess I did too good a job of dodging bullets and mortars in Iraq.
