I'd rather they kept him.....Hermida has sucked.

Take Cody Ross out of this division, thank you very much.

Seriously though, Boston always likes these project types.....like when they got Wily Mo Pena years back.

Is this for depth? a back up in case they can't sign Bay or Holliday? Or does he platoon with J.D. Drew?

A corner outfielder who bats .250 with an ops of .740 and strikes out 100+ times a year? He's my new favorite Sox player haha.

Steal??? I wouldn't call trading for a guy who has declined into a below average player and who was going to be a FA anyways when the Marlins declined arbitration and will cost 3-5M a steal. A good pickup? Yeah, he was a guy I wanted the Yanks to target for depth. But he isn't more than a depth move, and if he has to be more they are in trouble.

    Steal?

My guess is depth / project player for them to work with, nothing more.

2 years removed from a .296/.369/.501/.870 season at the age of 23, hit 18 hr and 32 2b. Former top prospect, still 25 years old, has pop and loads of talent. Jason Bay wasnt any good until he was 25 years old, btw...

Gave up absolutely nothing for him. Steal.

Yep...has the potential to be a Paul O'Neill for the Red Sox.

Former first round pick entering his prime and a good hitters park.
