Yeah, he'd be a nice fit with any club. Problem is it makes zero sense for them to trade him while he's making league minimum. Especially for a player that had decent, but not overwhelming results in AA and clearly needs more seasoning in the minors. Votto's also played 40-some games in the OF, so I'm not convinced they're going to need to move him or Alonso at any point anyways when they could just put Votto out in LF.
Phillips or Harang, on the other hand, I think could be had if the financial troubles are true. Where else are they going to cut 10+ million from payroll? Arroyo? Yeah, like anybody is taking on that contract.
Phillips/Harang would plug two holes pretty quickly. Harang would be a much different pitcher if you take him out of that bandbox in Cincy. Look at his home/road splits for proof of that. And Phillips...in citi, with a (God willing) Healthy Jose Reyes in front of him (Drool)? At that point, if you move Castillo for a platoon mate for Murph or Evans and find a filler LF candidate (Cammy?), that's not a half bad team right there.
