You might of been the only one. Mauer was a no brainer, like A-Rod in 2007.

LOL. Then you didn't watch the season or read the articles.

Mauer was clearly the MVP and it wasn't even close. Well deserved.

Did yet another Detroit writer embarrass himself by voting Cabrera #1? When I saw that it wasn't unanimous I was just hoping it wasn't a NY voter that made the foolish choice, but having it be a Detroit guy is no surprise.

Good for Joe, he had an awesome season. Seems like a great guy and glad to see he's doing this for his hometown team.

With that said, would love to see him in pinstripes...

I was cracking up when I saw that..Cabrera? really? the drunken night out, domestic argument incident? real MVP material..

Probably the same guy who voted for Magglio over A-Rod in '07

UPDATE, 2:40 p.m.: According to Newsday’s Ken Davidoff, the writer who voted Cabrera first is Keizo Konishi of Kyodo News, based in Seattle.

You must not have watched baseball this year then.

Tex had a good year and he plays for the Yankees, Mauer deserved it but I figured the catcher from lil ole minnesota would get robbed..

Why would playing in Minnesota matter? Morneau won the MVP over Jeter in '06 in a much closer race.
