Which is kinda funny because the purpose of the change is to harken back to the '69 season, but those unis were white, not cream.
The best Met uniforms IMO were the "Snow Whites" without the black shaded lettering, and the all royal blue cap.
That's the essence of the Met uniform as originally intended. Yes, the team started with pinstripes, but that was because of the Yankees. The notion originally was to combine the uniforms of the Brooklyn Dodgers and New York Giants. The NY logo and orange collor is the Giants' and the royal blue is the Dodgers.
The 60's uniforms were made of a flannel material that was more of an off-white then anything else, it wasn't the Bright White you see on the uniforms they wore last year.
It's hard to say if they nailed that, in some pictures the difference is barely noticeable (Like this http://twitpic.com/qrt9o ), in others (Like the one above), it's very noticeable. I guess it depends a lot on the lighting.
