De Niro...

Could he possiby the best actor ever to set foot on this planet?
It seems any genre this guy touches is gold, drama, comedy, action.
Thoughts?

He's one of the best and I'm sad to say I haven't seen every movie in that reel. What is at 2:47?

It's not all comedy gold. Midnight Run: Gold...perhaps one of the best movies ever made...Showtime? Dogcrap.

He is a good actor that has done some very nice work. He is not in the top 10. Watch some of the specials on who the greatest of all time are. Usually a top 50 male and female. There are some amazing actors in there.

WAS the best. This past decade he was kind of annoying, no real special movies. he ruled the late 70's 80's and 90's. I personally think he's done as an actor.

Not sure why, but this day is loaded (no pun) with lots of hot chick posts. The first thing I thought of after seeing your thread was Bananarama and their tune, "Robert DeNiro is Waiting". I still have a crush on the brunette, Sara Dallin.

A bit stale and predictable if you ask me. Like John Cusak and Al Pacino, he kinda just "plays himself" in every movie, especially later in their careers.

He's okay I suppose, if you like the De Niro/Pacino style of flick, but I don't get all the mancream over them tbh. Can't think of a single movie in my personal "Tops" list that either De Niro or Pacino is in....

Thank you, Mike. But, it's true: That song was my first thought. And you of all people know my penchant for stream of consciousness posting.

+1 Midnight Run and The Heartbreak Kid are Grodin's masterworks, IMO. When I first saw Midnight Run, I could not believe that the shooting script could possibly contain all those expletives by DeNiro, who is also surprisingly funny in the film.

Can't say I'm a huge Porn Fan either, honestly. Not enough Redheads, too much stuff I coinsider a bit more extreme than I find entertaining.

Nope, just not a "Gangster" movie guy, or a fan of the kind of flicks these two make generally.

"Jack, you haven't said two words"

"Here's two words for you...shut the F up"

I can't see the youtube links at work, so my apologies if that is one of the links.

Love DeNiro's movies. One of the underrated ones is when he plays the catatonic Leonard Lowe in "Awakenings", with Robin Williams as the dedicated doctor in a N.Y. asylum in the late 1960s.

I'm sitting here laughing at the line. I remember really laughing out loud throughout that flick.

"Are you always this angry?"

"Hey, right now, I'm in a great f**kin' mood."

Porn is for keeping the pipes clean and siphoning off the DSBU.

Not for entertainment.;)

I agree with you about Deniro....I like watching him, but he is a one trick pony as an actor, like Harrison Ford or Morgan Freeman.

Its ironic Midnight run was posted, because it showcases Grodin as twice the actor Deniro is, imho.
