    Poll:Honest question about Welker Injury

When you saw the replay of his foot catching the turf, did you hope the injury was bad enough to sideline him for the year?

Nope. The only thing I hoped for would be that it would shut up the "integrity of the game" talk.

    I totally agree.

This is why if you don't have to play your starters at the end of the season you should have the right to sit them. Now I do know NE still had a chance to lose the 3rd seed if they didn't win, so they played their starters.

But for those teams, like Indy, which have already sewn up playoff spots and the #1 seeding, playing their 1st stringers are dangerous. Look at poor Welker, a non-contact injury.

I purposely hid identities so I'd get honest answers.

I think the first time I saw the replay, the announcers were already saying that he may have torn his ACL and MCL so I just assumed he was gone for the year.

Not sure I even had the opportunity in my mind to hope one way or the other.

Never one to wish injury, however, once injured, no sense it being JUST a flesh wound. :D

I have no problems with Welker.

He doesn't talk trash, he plays hard, and he's good. I don't really like seeing players get hurt, as I remember how injuries decimated the Jets D in the 80's.

I'm proud to say when he went down, I turned to my wife and said "I hope he's not

    a vegetable."

I certainly didn't wish him an injury of that magnitude, that could affect the rest of his career, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't hoping he'd be out a couple weeks or something like that.
