nope, positive mental thoughts are always the best way to go. Just like in golf, before a tee shot you don't think to yourself "OK, whatever I do, don't hit it in the water on the right... anywhere but right.. don't go right... right... NO!"

    bla-bloop... into the water.
Anytime there's a par 3 with water between the tee and the green, my grandfather tosses a ball into the water and says, "this one's yours. leave mine alone."

This is just SAR's way of tossing a ball into the water. No bad vibes here IMO.

Bingo. SARs been laying his ass on the line to fulfill his superstitions for a month now. We've been winning and he's been getting smacked around. He's a better Jets fan than Ira, IMO.

here's one straight out of Twilight Zone:

1:50 left in game, Jets winning 19-14, Jets have ball on Colts 28 yard line and it's 4th & 1, Colts have no time outs left. Rex decides to go for it again because a FG still keeps it a one score game and he's not backing down anyway. Jets miss 1st down by one link on the chain, Colts score winning TD with 3 seconds left.

Jets are trailing by 6pts with 9 seconds on the clock. 3rd and goal on the 2yd line & 1 timeout. Toss right to TJ and in for the score. But wait, there was a false start... and a 10second run off. Ouch.

How about fumbling the opening kickoff and having it returned for a Touchdown?

How about falling behind by 24 points, make a mad comeback only to get intercepted at the goal line with 12 seconds left?

I think the NY Jets attract a large segment of the population that needs psychotherpy.

Gastineau played like an animal that game. That one bad call doesn't make him the poster child for SOJ (that would still be you). A lot of crazy crap went on in the closing minutes of that game in order for that fluke ending to occur. How about the Pass Interference on Marty Lyons the play before Gastineau crushed Kosar? Or the Horrible spot of the ball on a 3rd and long, making the refs stop the clock for a measurement?

I actually just watched it on you tube the other night.

Bottom line is SOJ doesn't exist if you don't acknowledge it. So stop already.

How ironic that those 2 uniform numbers now represent the Jets last 2 starting QBs.

Jets make a goal line stand as time runs out to win a close game. Wait... there's a flag... roughing the passer against the Jets, there will be one more play...

OK.. Irsay opens roof on Lucas Oil Stadium, Rainstorm that is pelting AZ with 4 inches today hits Indy Saturday, field is an ABSOLUTE MESS by Sunday. Green slips in mud on first carry, pulls groin. TJ limited to 42 yards. Sanchez throws 2 pick sixes to Dwight Freeny, we lose 14-0 :steamin:

This is the only time I ever cried after a football game. I was 10. They had that game --
