    Possible (and realistic) slot WR

The Skins cut Antwan Randle-El today. He's very quick and I think he could be an adequate 3rd WR, as well as a very good punt returner, and we can actually sign him because he was released. Thoughts?

We already have him, his name is Brad Smith.

I think they're totally different players, Randle El is like 5 inches shorter and alot quicker

He also can play WR, something Smith has not been able to do. I dont think its a bad idea. Hes a proven guy that can probably catch 30-40 passes in this offense. Jets two biggest offensive needs in my mind are a slot WR and a true hybrid TE.

The guy I'm really interested in is Mark Clayton.

Randal-El didn't play well last year.

Being fair, Smith really hasn't been given much of a shot to play WR since 2007. He's become more of a specialist offensively and they kinda abandoned that experiment.

I guess I don't see Randle El being used as a true WR in our offense either, maybe he's a little better at playing WR, but because of his unique skillset I'm not convinced he'd get the opportunity to put up 30-40 catches.

On the other hand, imagine a Wildcat formation with Smith at QB and Randle El in the backfield. :D

It sounds like such a good fit that there seems to be a catch.

He will be asked to be a #3, not #2, which he was in Washington. I would be happy if they made this move. They always said they try to fill holes before drafts. Good find.

Definately a better option than the Jets already have. It keeps their options open come draft day. They will most likely need to draft someone anyway to groom for the spot since Randle-El is definately not a long term solution.

There has been a lot of reports that claim that a lot of veterans are going to be released, this seems to be happening. The Jets did not Tender Wallace Wright (curious ?), they may be wanting to clear a roster spot for a true receiver. I like the fact of obtaining a veteran WR for Sanchez, if he is good in the huddle and the money is right, Randle El may be the man... stay tuned for more cuts..

wallace wright comes back i think. If not he'll get scooped up quick for his special teams skills alone.

HELL NO on Randle El. He was despised here for his utter lack of anything that resembled performance.

    Edit: Thank god.

    Straight-up trade:

    Vernon Gholston for Chansi Stuckey.

    2 birds with one stone.

Mangina LOVED Gholston. Was the force behind the pick.

Before he was traded, Stuckey was becoming Sanchez's favorite target, developing some real chemistry. Stuckey is a GOOD slot receiver.

    I wasn't totally joking.

I may be hearing things but I could of sworn ESPN said that LC's agent has said that he would be with the Jets via text message from Tanny during the Michael Kay show. Did anyone else hear that?
