He's a considerable upgrade over Sheppard and/or Lowery... he's only 25... and we gave up a 3rd rounder in next years draft... Never mind the off field problems, and unwillingness to tackle sometimes... Rex will straighten him out... fact is he's a good cover corner and a ball hawk. I say great move, especially since it unhancuffs us from taking a CB in the 1st round of such a stacked draft this year!

It's a low risk, extremely high reward move.

Sure, Cromartie has his struggles in the running game, but the guy is a dynamite cover corner. Excellent in man coverage and a physical specimen to say the least. 6'2 210 with legit 4.3 speed and outstanding leaping ability.

Not to mention that it frees us up to take the BAP at #29 and beyond.

Very good move, hats off to Tanny.

I love it and when he starts picking off QBs left and right in the early part of the season you're not gonna hear anything about this off field stuff. People are gonna be praising the Jets and it's gonna be a lovefest.

The only thing I hate about this move is the eventual bandwagoners when we're destroying the league on defense. I just hope Sanchez's development as a QB improves and that the offense can manage to really put something together on a consistent basis. That's up to Brian and Mark to work harder than last year to improve. And it's up to the WR's to get more time with Mark. None of this, "I'm going to the U to work out this offseason." Nah, their asses better be at the facilities working out a chemistry with Mark all summer long.

it's a number 2 or 3 next draft and how many players will be coming out in the 2nd round of any draft that has the talent. i'm worried about the whole san diego scene an attitude but rex should be able to get this guy to play hard and well. the other point is his contract. does he have any years left? if not then the jets will have to be prepared to not only deal with him but revis next season. it's going to cost a bit to keep both of these guys. let's enjoy it while it lasts.

LOL, I was wondering who that was....
    No comment from them.
I bet it's CW McGraw or a Pasts fan.

This trade is going to need some time to fester before an accurate judgement can be made. We'll see how things go through the OTA's and how it develops on the field. If he buys in hook, line and sinker than this could end up being a fantastic trade for the Jets (it's hard to see him doing so though because he was in a winning situation in SD and still acted the fool).

Cromartie is better suited for "Man-Coverage" in the secondary rather than "Zone Coverage". Revis SHUTS-DOWN his assignment for the game and totally removes him from the opponent's offensive game plan. Cromartie, set to cover either the #1 or #2 receiver will be AWESOME! Rex can rotate the 2 STUD CB's all game long, adding another dimension of difficulty to opposing QB's looking to identify the defensive match-ups. The Cromartie signing will also benefit the pass-rush, in that it will allow more time to pressure the QB if his WR's are covered! Gholston? Lito was supposed to be "That Guy" last season, but he just didn't have the talent!

Wouldnt be shocked if the Jets have both starting corners in the Pro Bowl next year..even though they wont be playing in it.
