If Philips can come back 100% and be healthy, he would have a pretty strong argument. But that's a huge IF with that injury.

According to the National Football Post's Michael Lombardi, there's "major concern" inside the Giants organization that SS Kenny Phillips' surgically repaired knee won't fully heal.
"He has bone on bone right now," says Lombardi. This report is interesting because the Giants have been staunchly optimistic in public statements about Phillips. Coach Tom Coughlin denied Saturday that the Antrel Rolle signing was in any way related to Phillips, though speculation exists to the contrary. Phillips is targeting OTAs for a return to the field.
I think signing Rolle was a good move by the Giants. Forget about how much thy are paying him. They are finding a way to bury some of that in this uncapped year.
The real good part for them is they desperately need a linebacker. So, the Dolphins (who draft ahead of the Giants) also neede a LB and they signed Dansby. So now, the Fins will probably NOT pick a LB with their first choice leaving a few real good options for the Giants with their first pick.
