The New England to Denver pipeline is alive and well.

The Broncos announced Tuesday they signed defensive end Jarvis Green, who played the first eight years of his career with the Patriots. New England was hoping to keep him.

Green won't post splashy stats (he has three sacks the last two years), but he's a rock solid rotation end in a 3-4 defense. The Broncos need competent warm bodies, and they've now added Justin Bannan and Green.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports Green will earn $7.5 million in the first two years of a four-year contract. The total value of the deal can reach $20 million.

Green will mostly play on passing downs, but this signing makes it less likely the Broncos pick up Dwan Edwards.

Meh, losing Green isn't going to affect them all that much.

I'm pissed they're about to resign Bodden though :steamin:

Houston apparently couldn't pull it off and that blows.

Jarvis Green started after Seymour was traded, correct???

Green started 12 games for them, yes.

Makes one wonder how they plan on replacing them. It wouldn't shock me to see their 1st rounder in this department given how highly Belicheck values the D-Line.

Pulled this from ESPN to double check.

KEY CONSIDERATION: Wilfork’s situation with the franchise tag creates some uncertainty. Jarvis Green, who started at right defensive end in 2009, is set to test the free-agent market which adds to the need. With this in mind, one of the key questions going forward will be the progress that Brace and Pryor make in their second seasons. Can either become a full-time player?

Jarvis Green was very valuable in the role he played in NE. He was the perfect rotational DE. I don't think, however, he will carry the same value as a starter. Mike Wright is a similar guy (only not as good)....as a rotational DLineman he's very valuable. As a highly paid starter, not as much.

Pats were in a bind not to overpay for a guy who only has value up to a certain level, but real value, nonethelss.

I'm just surprised he's never left in past years. I'm guessing the Pats were very strategic in his extensions, with him only coming up as a UFA now.

Odrick to the Pats at #22 is looking more and more likely.

Sorry to see Jarvis go, but this news is more than offset by reports of the Bodden deal.
I'm seeing more an more mocks that have him going before 22, but I still expect him to be there and if he is I agree the Pats most likely pull the trigger.
I would love one of these d-lineman to fall to us at #29

They just spent a high pick on Brace and they have other young guys like Grady, Wright, Pryor, etc...

I just don't see them spending another pick when OLB is a more pressing need as well as CB and WR.

TE is a hole for them, RB is a hole for them.

They have a lot of picks but they basically have more holes.

It's comical to see them fall apart like this. They didn't want to pay their players through retirement but they ripped apart their roster while doing it.

Let's see the usual suspects try to spin this. No doubt they will.
