Thread: Official Stadium Opener/Sham Coin Toss thread (merged)

    Secret coin toss.

    LOLz.

    What a crock.

Can't believe that they actually expect fans to believe this was left up to a coin toss.

My suggestion is that they toss YOU instead.... although there isn't big enough equipment available to actually lift you off the ground
Is this is true, why was the coin toss a secret? It would have been a rather entertaining P.R. move to do it at the site of the new stadium. Woody, Mara, maybe Sanchez and Eli could be there too, and some TV cameras.

I don't think there was a coin toss. I think the whole thing was fabricated and it was decided that the Giants would host the first game a long time ago.
+1 exactly...rumored giants/bears forever, goodell squashes the coin-toss idea and then tada, secret coin-toss, giants win...ya ok...

And if you believe that when the 2009 season was scheduled that the NFL did not think the Giants would be hosting a playoff game (thus truly closing out the old stadium), I'd like to sell you the Brooklyn Bridge.
please god, not another thread about this totall b-s topic of game one and the coin toss... Isn't one meaningless nonsense thread on this topic enough
As many meaningless nonsense threads as there are here, you have a remarkable track record in being like, the second or third to post in them.

Perhaps being the thread poleez is your true calling.

Your world weariness and Mr. Sunshiney demeanor work well off eachother.

I think they are trying to use that as an excuse. Lets face it. When the schedule was released last year, it was almost a given that the Giants would be a playoff team so they would have a great chance of playing at home sometime during January, 2010. They Jets were getting no respect and therefore no one (except for possibly delusional fans) thought the Jets were going to the playoffs prior to last year's draft.

It something that they can say NOW, but it was never intended to be that way. This shouldn't come as a shock to anyone because the Jets organization always gets screwed.

well it's all a matter of perspective..for example I care for the simple fact that if the jets missed the playoffs there's ZERO shot of them hosting but somehow the giants automatically get to host with their boring ass team which will do nothing this season. I realize it means nothing but at the same time it means everything. If the Jets won the superbowl, was that their only chance of hosting a home game to open the stadium? wonder how many other teams have to fulfill that prerequiste.

hey, if there was a coin-toss and the giants win, that's great but there's a secret coin-flip in the basement of the meadowlands or some **** with zero jets representation that just happened to coincide with the nfl's plan all along apparently..right..**** you goodell.
