    Players want to be "JETS"

    Thank you Mike Tannenbaum
    Thank you Rex Ryan
Thanks for keeping Tanny & hiring Rex Ryan Woody

We can rag on Woody all we want for stadium issues ect. but he's got a helluva management team right now running our beloved football team.

Players love Rex. Just comments like Sharper, "I wouldn't mind playing for the Jets", its just awesome to hear when your a fan that's been following this team for years through all those low points where you couldn't even get news on the Jets because, NO ONE CARED.

When Tanny says, "we will always be looking to make this team better", I believe him. The proofs in the pudding & the NY Jets right now are a team to be reckoned with in regards to free agents.

There will be a lot of young men in the draft when the NY Jets are on the clock, they'll be whispering to themselves, "pick me, pick me", who wouldn't want to be a part of what they got going on. They are always in the news now, they have a young famous QB, a brash & fun coach, an excellent coaching staff, (my god, our Oline coach, coached in the Superbowl for gods sake). Pettine is showing to be a fine coach in his own right. We know Belichick won't be OUTCOACHING this staff anytime soon.

Seeing Sanchez smiling & pumping his fist when the Jets called made all of the horrible years I've spent as a fan of this team just fade away. I just had so much hope that the Jets had turned the corner and could quite possibly be relevent for the next 10-12 years.

It really is cool to be a NY Jet fan. Fans all over the country were pulling for the Jets last year, even Pats fans against the Colts. No longer are Pats fans blindly saying, " we'll kick your *sses next year", reality is setting in that the Jets have had quite the run on draft picks lately.

It was a long 10 years watching the Pats own us but I'm hoping 2010 is year that we sweep them. Until then they are still a threat. A sweep would really usher in the next decade of NY Jets football for all of us.

imagine Tomlinson touring the Minnesota facilities... maybe they go to the hubert H humphrey metrodome, maybe not... it's meh either way... now imagine him the next day seeing NYJ's brand new headquarters... and then getting a police escort down to see the brand new stadium... it has to make a difference in free agency to have these recruiting tools.

imagine sitting down with rex and tanny. imagine them telling you that they're going to be much better in 2010 with sanchez no longer a rookie and having 1 offseason to fix their weak areas. Plus, LT knows the jets just traded for cromartie.

Do you think LT really wants to play with Farve anyway? the guy chokes in every big game.

Although I was disappointed when the Jets went from Hofstra to Florham park, I knew it was for the better regarding the entire organization.

Jets were always 2nd class citizens being on the Island and playing in NJ. Selfishly I didn't want them to leave because it was a right of passage for my son to go to camp with my brother & his cousins.
We would have a ball, then stop at the Good Steer for Burgers on the way home, (It was always fun all of us walking in decked out in Jets gear).

But you can see already, it's a really good setup for the Jets now. The facility is top notch, players can find less expensive suitable housing. No more long bus rides to the stadium. With the new stadium it really is a recruiters dream.
Big time players aren't afraid to play in big time towns & NY is as big as it gets.
So, I have to sacrifice camp, but I'm actually considering taking a road trip to camp this year. Hopefully they can do a week at Stony Brook or something like that for the Long Island fans.
Any way it's hard to complain with the results.

They don't have training camp in FP do they? I thought Rex moved it to Cortland? I love the FP facility cause I live 5-10 minutes from there lol

That must have sucked when you found out they were camping in Cortland.
I would have been pumped if I lived 10 minutes from their new facilities.

I live in NH now, so when I mapquested where the hell Cortland was I found out it's like 8 hours from my house!
    I was like holy *hit!
But, people that have made the trip say it's real intimate & close and that Rex makes sure the team reaches out to the fans, so a road trip might be in order this summer.

Didnt Calvin Pace get a tour of the city via Helicopter when he visited. I love that the Jets are an attractive team these days!

This is the least exciting quote about something to be excited about ever. It made me chuckle a little.

Players like the Jets lately because the Jets have been showing players money lately. Not to sh*t on the parade...

Maybe even more than the draftees (which are kinda "stuck" with whoever drafts them) is the impact on UDFAs.

Sure they didn't get drafted, but you can get special teams aces, quality depth, "diamonds in the rough" . . . maybe even PUNTERS!!

There's certainly nothing wrong with the thought in the back of their head . . ."man, it would be cool to play for Rex . . ."
