    and that ladies and gentlemen

is how to run the league's best defense

    what was interesting to me:

-Kerry Rhodes old position is called the "weak safety" instead of "free" lol

    - the 4-6 and invert (modified 4-3) looks were extremely interesting. B for backer means either the sam or will (or both play 4-3 DE "hand on the ground" style)

    - pressure packages any1 can blitz from any position, but acting is essential

    - Note the 3rd fundamental of the 3-4 "a strong nose tackle can control the game... pressures the center"

Something I have always wondered is why the Ravens, w/ and w/o Rex, use Haloti Ngata at DE and not as nose tackle but Rex used Jenkins mainly as a NT. They are very very similar players, size and technique alike.

Ngata is smaller and much more athletic than Jenks, who is bigger and stronger.

    ngata vs jenkins

short answer jenks and ngata could play both, and probably has in that defense... ngata doesn't offer as much pass rush as jenks however... but ngata is much more durable and even a bit nimble dropping back into coverage

All I know is this, getting Jenkins back next year will really help our Defense with Pouha as our backup NT. We could even run some 4-3 with Gholston, Jenkins, Pouha and Ellis on the D-Line.

Now that we all know that Pouha is a solid Football player... Depth @ NT is no longer an issue. Cant wait to see Jenkins as our D-Line Anchor next season.

I know it's a little dated, but still...what an insight to a master defensive plan.

it is really great for the NY Jets to have both the best defensive scheme in the NFL and the best defensive minds at the helm running that scheme
