Jets signed LB Lance Laury, formerly of the Seahawks.
With zero career sacks, Laury will be asked to learn the inside linebacker position in New York's 3-4 system. Primarily, though, he'll be running down kicks and punts. Laury led Seattle in special teams tackles last year.
haha, (Lance) Laury Izzo. Kinda weird how his name fits right in.
I think this guy is more comparable to Jason Trusnik who was a special teams demon for us. Seems like a young LB who is a sure tackler and thats what you want on return coverage. I was at that Ted Ginn Jr. debacle and there is no way Westhoff can let that happen again. If he cracks a few rotations at ILB during the regular season I wouldn't be surprised if he plays well. Good signing.
Jets sign former Seahawks special teams ace Laury

NEW YORK -- The New York Jets have signed former Seattle Seahawks linebacker and special teams captain Lance Laury.
Laury was a restricted free agent who wasn't tendered by Seattle, where he spent his first four seasons. He had 21 tackles and one forced fumble on special teams last season.
He'll help bolster a Jets unit that has already lost special teams standouts Wallace Wright to the Carolina Panthers and Marques Murrell to the New England Patriots. They also could be without Larry Izzo, a free agent whose status is uncertain after a season-ending spine injury.
Laury was signed by Seattle as an undrafted free agent out of South Carolina in 2006.
