    Nice picks, Royal - had my eyes on both players - in fact Villa was definitely in the mix for this pick. For my next pick, however, I'll be going with a player whose form has dipped this season, but I suspect this is much more to do with things off the pitch (involving his club, Liverpool) rather than a drop in his actual capabilities. He has had some injury issues this season, but look for him to come on very strong ahead of the World Cup.

    Steven Gerrard.

    Awesome, talismanic player - has been on the top shelf of midfielders in the world in the last 5 years. Great tackler, exceptional reader of the play, incredible passing range, wicked shot from any distance and just a lethal finisher full stop. His rampaging runs from deep positions give opposing managers and players nightmares. Very diifferent player to Xavi in a lot of ways, who will provide Yin to Gerrard's Yang in my XI.

    (to Que Sera, Sera)

    Steve Gerrard, Gerrard
    He'll pass the ball 40 yards,
    He's big, and he's ****ing hard,
    Steve Gerrard, Gerrard

    the horse faced demon himself, the one striker i always hate seeing arsenal go up against, and the man who has bought literally hundreds of his own jersey just so he can be Chel$ki's top seller...Didier Drogba

    Really?

    As an Arsenal fan, picking him must make you feel dirty heh? Run and go take a shower.

    The ego on some of these Euro soccer stars is hilarious.

    it is what it is...i had him pegged from the get go for my 2nd rounder, so i'm glad he actually lasted this long, but yeah, this is why i hate current player drafts, so many sleazy choices

    For the first of my back to back picks I'm going with Frank Lampard.

    I'm actually gonna worry about defense this time so my next pick will be my captain Carles Puyol.

    I wanted to pick up a midfielder this round but this guy with his 23 goals in 23 league matches is too good to pass on;

    Gonzalo Higuain
