Kicked the coffee table across the room as the winning FG went through, almost broke Muffin's little Schnauzer legs. That game made me the paranoid, superstitious, SO-Jets fan I am today.

I curse Mark Gastineau. Met him once, must have been 2003, it was in the Jets bubble outside the stadium, gave him the finger.

Dude, that picture made me laugh out loud. Great stuff.

LOL. It was the family dog, parents got it for my sisters and I in 1977 when I was a whopping 12 years old. In '86, I had just graduated college and was at the family home with the girlfriend watching the game as they had the better TV.

The Gastineau late hit was bad and got the Browns going again, but the Jets were still up 10 points and the Browns were still on their side of the field.

THE BIGGEST PLAY of the game never gets mentioned.

It came immediately after the Browns scored a TD, kicked to the Jets, forced a 3 and out and received the jets punt.

First and 10, down 3 points with only 53 seconds left (and NO timeouts), Kosar takes the snap a chucks a prayer down the seam. Jets DB Carl Howard (#28) pushed Brennan in the back on a hopeless play that netted TWENTY SIX yards, stopped the clock and put the Browns on the Jets 32.

    The play took 6 seconds.

    The rest was history.

I believe I had the first fan Chad Pennington jersey in existence, purchased custom from Gerry Cosby's in Manhattan a few months after the '00 draft.

Wore it proudly to the 2000 opener at Green Bay, in fact. Woody's first game. We got there super early and met him on the field and thanked him for keeping the Jets in New York. He looked at my jersey and said "I like your jersey. We have high hopes for him." A few minutes later, Ray Lucas came out of the tunnel, fresh off his fantastic 1999 season, sees a dude in a rookie backup QB's jersey, shot me a nasty look as I shouted "Thank you for last year, Ray! You'll get your contract!"

I have (in San Francisco) nothing but Greatest Games by Niners - the Terrell Owens beats Green Bay in 99 wild card and the "Catch" game. Why they won't show the NFC Championship of 94-95 season...that was a real ass-kicking.

How can I see the Greatest Jets games, Mr. Wizard?

My guide on DTV says that at 8 pm is the Oilers @ Buffalo in the comeback game from '92 and at 9:30 is the 1992 Buffalo Bills special.
