The entire Maryland/Washgton DC/Virginia region is laughing at us right now, and rolling their eyes.

One must assume the Pro-Brunell folks simply never watched him "play" when he was down here, that perhaps their attention only centers on the Jets alone.

Because no one who say Brunell attempt to play in DC would want him, in ANY capacity, on their roster.
And the SB Champions wanted him for what reason?

Is the entire Maryland/Washgton DC/Virginia region laughing at his SB ring right now, because that would make them smarter than who?

No one is signing Brunnel to play football. And if he had to, he definitely could play to the level that Clemens did in his one appearance.

    Ballast.

This question would imply Brunell had a meaningful role in the Saints title. I would have to call "facts not in evidence" at any such claim. The Saints could have had anyone in that role, and the end result in 2009 would have been the same.

No one is signing Brunell. He'll be very lucky to be in the NFL in 2010, and I maintain he brings nothing to the Jets on the field, and very very little to the Jets off of it.

Our franchise is much better off grooming a young QB behind Sanchez than it is giving one last year of cash to a broken down Veteran with nothing to offer.
You asked.

Having seen his quality of play (using the word quality loosely) in his time in D.C., I have no doubt he would have been very hard pressed to have won anything for the Jets in 2009.

Perhaps 0-16 is an exaggeration, but 6-10 or 5-11 is not.

Brunell has nothing of value to offer our team, or our young QB.
The best backups in history was Steve Young or Brady behind Bledsoe.. Jeff Hostetler did a great job taking over for Sims but backup QBs are usually past their prime or inexperienced.. Whose to say Ainge couldn't come in and do a Brady if needed??:P

Are you talking about when he faced a horrific Bucs defense whose offense couldn't stay on the field? He was 12 of 23 for 111 yards and no touchdowns. Clemens absolutely sucks and has no business being our contingency plan if Sanchez goes down with a major injury.

I'm definitely not a fan of signing ancient Brunell but a 40 year old Brunell is probably more effective than what we have behind Sanchez right now.
