Now who the hell would want to watch this show?

Producers Looking to Make Persian Version of 'Jersey Shore'

NEW YORK (AP/ 1010 WINS) -- The production company behind "The Jersey Shore'' is looking for Persian-Americans.

495 Productions and Doron Ofir Casting have announced that they're casting a "Persian version'' of the MTV hit reality show about young Italian-Americans partying at the beach.

The casting call, which Gawker.com first reported, seeks applicants who are 21 or older, "appear younger than 30 and are outrageous, outspoken and a proud Persian-American.''

A spokesman for 495 Productions didn't reply to questions about whether the show had any TV network deal.

"The Jersey Shore'' is in production for a second season. Numerous attempts have been undertaken to mimic it, including a Russian-American* version set in Brooklyn's Brighton Beach that doesn't yet have distribution.

    *Starring Russian Green

There is a flaw in logic here...

They are assuming there is a similar element of the jersey shore type in every other ethnic group, when it is pretty unique.

Unique in every terrible way possible, but unique.

Back in the 70s, National Lampoon Magazine had this hilarious concept for overthrowing Eastern Bloc governments: Send over hundreds of pretty, 17 year-old cheerleaders to party with average guys, asking them to denounce their regimes. LOL. Let's pitch that angle to the producers of this show in Iran. Okay, make the hotties 18.

There was a National Lampoon Foreigners issue in the 70's that just crushed every ethnic group. Harshly. Do you remember it?

I vaguely remember it, but not sure. Too many years have passed.

During that era, I read every Lampoon cover to cover. There has never been anything that approximated the madness of Doug Kenney, Chris Miller, Ed Subitzky, and many other talented--and supremely warped--writers.

I have several friends (at least 20) here in Houston that fit the bill. They are my friends, but they are complete D.B.'s

C'mon, us Persians/Americans are quite capable of being just as douchy as you Italians.

    :D

You guys have never seen a Persian or Greek guido?

...and Timmy, those are clearly Arabs in your OP.

    You're interchangeable.

I couldn't find a picture of any partying Persians. I thought I'd slip it through.

    LOL. Classic. August, 1971.

A personal favorite, as it contains the original "O.C. & Stiggs" story, which (believe it or not) Robert Altman butchered in the screen adaptation.
