Santonio Holmes means no WR in 1st... now what?

I didn't want nor did I think we would take a WR in the first...

as always I was the pick to be on the O or D line. I'll add OLB/Pass Rusher in with that mix...

give me an Odrick, Cody, Williams, Iupati, Graham, whomever just let it be one of those positions

we all probably agree WR is off the table now, so what do you see the Jets picking now?

    Let's go Jets

I could be happy with a CB, but I'd prefer lineman (I always do)

Holmes means these eejits asking for Williams, Tate, Thomas or a trade up for Bryant are completely off base.

Bullet dodged. Go get the BPA.

Eric Berry will be a Jet.

I could see us trading up for Earl Thomas if he falls far enough.

Great news, i'm still in shock at the moment. just home and saw the news.

this is exactly what i was campaigning for the jets to do. solve the WR depth issue with a vet/proven guy. Save that big WR pick for next year.

Only down side to this is that it's a 1 year deal, and now there's no chance we take Dez i think

Does it? The contracts of Edwards and Holmes expire soon IIRC...if WR is the BPA, I don't think it's out of the realm of possibilities.

I think I can live without a WR in the first.

Although I don't think we can completely rule it out at some point this draft considering that Edwards and Holmes are both essentially on one year deals.

They'd be very lucky to get Bryant though...it'd be a good time to be the Jets QB.

well i just think that unless Dez fell to us at #29 (which won't happen obviously), then we won't get him, as in we won't make a play to trade up for Dez which is too bad....

... a small part of me was holding out for that.

Actually, the eejits are the ones that kept posting that WR wasn't a need

Devin McCourty must be the pick. He can provide depth in the secondary and immediately contribute on special's, and if Cromartie doesn't work out we have a possible young pairing to go with #24 in the future. And we know that Rex loves DB's...

It's all about CB and DL, it always has been.

    McCourty, Jackson, Odrick, Cody

Get me any of those four guys at #29 and I'll be VERY happy.

    uhh, cough* taylor mays?, Cough-cough*

Taylor Mays and those unbelievable hits would be fun to watch...

But I don't see him falling and I don't see us picking him.

Corner, DL or pass rusher. Those are the only three spots we are going.

Rooting for Kyle Wilson to fall in the first, but I see the pick being someone like Hughes or Everson Griffen. Then maybe Perrish Cox or Linval in the 2nd.

Correction: WR was never a first round need.

Again, no thanks to McCourty. He had his chance at the senior bowl (practices) and simply couldn't cover the guys anywhere near close to how players like Kyle Wilson, Perrish Cox, and even Patrick RObinson did.

I know people like him because he's a rutgers guy and ran some fast times, but for a corner it's all about the hips, and he simply doesn't show that next level ability to turn with the receivers.
