Thats one huge tomato! My cucumbers and tomatoes are exploding but none that big. Your thyme and rosemary look very healthy also, my herbs didn't take off this year any sugestions?
I used a pelletized vegetable fertilizer this year that I bought from the nursery where I got the herbs and tomatoes. That and a lot of water. Healthiest crop I've grown in years.
The garbage herbs I buy in the supermarket are a disgrace compared you your crop. Look at the healthy, green hues on your thyme and rosemary. Absolutely beautiful. I'm thinking you infuse some olive oil. Well done.
I infused some Extra Virgin Olive Oil with last year's Rosemary crop. Never thought about infusing it with Thyme--great idea and I have about 8 cups more than I can use. Going to start drying some of it too.

I also have way more Sage and Italian Parsely then I could ever use. The Tarragon kind of got shaded out by the Rosemary, so it's not as robust.

When I was on the Cape, my Basil went to seed/flower so it's almost done. Pinched off as many as I could, but I have to buy a few new plants this weekend. Never got around to making Pesto. Same thing with my Cilantro, went to flower very quickly and I lost it all.

Imagining Stokes in his herb garden in his chef of the future apron and black socks, talking to Poli standing on the other side of the fence wearing a Sombrero and fake mustache makes me giggle.

I would gladly take all your extra herbs. They are gorgeous and look to have tons of essential oils.

Over the years, I've found that oil with the actual herbs in the bottle don't last that long without proper sanitizing of the bottles. Plus, it takes a lot of time before the herb flavor infuses into the oil.

Usually, I shortcut the process by placing the volume of oil and the herb in a saucepan and bring it gently to up to heat without boiling (I shoot for 160-170 degrees or warm to the touch). Then, I let it cool in the pan, strain into a glass mason jar or bottle, and refrigerate. That way, you have an oil that's ready to go almost instantly.

The Catskill Brussell Sprouts. Ive never tried a brussell sprout in my life. Not quite sure why. I have heard they are great sauteed with a little butter, cut side down, until carmelized. Borgo?

My tomato forest. 9 weeks, and over 5 gallons of fresh pasta sauce in the freezer later, still producing. My grandfather would be beside himself.
