    MLB draft isn't like the NFL draft, where you get selected really doesn't correlate with what signing bonus you get, well.. besides the top 5 picks.

    Not exactly on the same subject, but this is a funny. As per lhblogs.com Top overall pick Bryce Harper agreed to a 5 year $9.9mil. deal which includes a $6.25mil. signing bonus with Nationals in literally the minute before the midnight deadline. The Nats front office celebrated seriously with a pie to the face of their general manager. LOL AWESOME!!!

    BTW The deal is a new record for a position player signed out of the Draft. The previous record was held by Mark Teixeira, who received a $9.5 million, four-year Major League deal in 2001

    is he a real good prospect who was expected to be hard to sign?
