Not intended as an insult at all, JT; just my perception, right or wrong. For months now, I am sensing a general feeling of "creative malaise" on the part of many participants in this, and other, forums. Have we hit a wall? Or have we been populated by a newer generation of poster who is not interested in bizarre or sexually based humor, "riffing" off previous posts which lead to tangents and unexplored territories, etc? Or has the status quo reached its zenith and is now obsolete?
I know that's not what you meant, hence the ;) . IMO, in order to allow bizarre or sexually based humor topics, a new forum would need to be opened with an age check. I'm not talking about making a porn forum, either. No pictures, no videos allowed - just a place to get revoltingly creative. Believe me, my sexual dementia goes far deeper and darker than anything anyone has ever seen me post and sometimes (ok, all the time) it's frustrating to hold back for risk of being banned or having a post deleted.

The quality of poster hasn't changed much, but we are running out of original topics.
Hey, speaking of goodbyes, do you guys think there is a built in "shelf life" to posting on JI? To me, it seems like the caliber of poster necessary to make a forum like The Hampur operate a optimal efficiency has dropped off precipitously.
Concur there has been a creative malaise. I think in the Fall/Winter when people are spending more time indoors, we may get that magic back.
We lost a bunch of quality posters in The Great Schism, but hey, who am I to criticize a thinly veiled insult at current Hampurites. ;)
Geezuz, what a whiny baby.

I agree. Even yesterday, a poster called me out for being derivative in my Women's Primer Thread. His comment didn't bother me (clearly, the person has an agenda against me, which is his prerogative), but I asked JW to excise the thread completely anyway (Thanks, JW.). Not because of the person or content, but the general lack of participation and desire to take it to a new level with personal anecdotes, etc. Maybe folks just aren't interested.

I will also say that without your skill as a poster, as well as about five or six others, The Hampur becomes a quagmire of insipid threads.

I've throttled down of late, big time. Folks just don't seem to be interested. Go look at my last few threads in the Hotties Forum. There is almost no participation. Why do we continue to do it? As I said initially: Is there a built in shelf life to doing this stuff?

Eh, I wouldn't say that. Let's just say that you appreciate the way my mind works more than others do. But thanks. :D

I gotta agree with Stokes. The magic should return once the season gets into full swing, when all Dooting Strip topics are 100% Jets - who had a good game/who sucks/why we'll beat this team this week/Brady is ghey/Folk needs deeper kickoffs, etc. The Hampur will once again be a retreat from the repetition.

It's summertime, heading out to a BBQ at my father-in-laws so I've go nothing to add.

Iffin this were a chilly October sunday, I'd be on JI all day making fun of DWC2.

I think you need to post hotties here, some of us rarely go over there.

BTW, 32 has really dropped off in his creative content. And I thought Timmy would come back strong, but he' just a poser.

    :D

See you later Dude, have a nice glass of wine or 3, cook something great, enjoy your woman and see you tonite for the Jets game.

One of my favorite Al Bundy Lines:

Peg: You gonna miss me Al?
Al: I can't miss you till you're gone Peg.

Use it whenever my wife asks me if I'll miss her, in my best Al Bundy voice, which is pretty good. I laugh, she rolls her eyes, everybody wins.

Don't lump me in with JT.

He's a Hampur neewbie and kind of shifty. Not sure I trust him yet. It wasn't until FF2 blew me that I totally trusted him.
