Thread: One Song

    One Song

What is your single favorite song?

One song that people could play at your funeral, and everyone would know it was your song.

By definition, you can only post once in this thread.

I don't know about my funeral . . . I'd probably want something really loud and heavy on the off-chance it might wake me up. :D

That aside, this is probably my favorite song of all time:

Thats why I posted both (same song) what a great cover.
Obviously they respect Young's work, what a complement.

There can only be One for me. No others.

This is impossible for me to answer. It would be like choosing your favorite child. Also, favorite songs depend on mood and genre.

As for my funeral, at this moment, I'd go with either "Cosmic Dancer", by T-Rex or "Dr Jimmy" by The Who.

I'm trying to picture all the Scotts/Jews sitting in the Temple/Church listening to that with tears in their eyes as they think of how you loved it so.

Picking one is tough, but this never fails to resonate

Aw, c'mon Borgo. I value your musical opinions too much to let you cop out like this. :D

How about this: You can only listen to one song for the rest of your life, regardless of your mood. What song would it be?

If you don't decide, I will decide for you. And if you let me decide for you, it will either be "Big Shot" by Billy Joel, "Heaven on Earth" by Belinda Carlisle, "We Built This City" by Starship, or "Don't Worry Be Happy" by Bobby McFerrin, whichever one annoys you the most.

Great choice, very high on my list. However, this song by Coldplay holds a very special meaning for me:

If he doesn't choose, you should give him The Edmund Fitzgerald or Eric Carmen's All By Myself. NOT the Celine Dion version ( what pipes).

As Borgo said almost impossible to choose. I like a lot of different stuff from different genres.

Gordon Lightfoot? Great, great songwriter - but you do know the CRTC would have allowed Randy Bachman, Anne Murray, or even Stompin' Tom as well :P
