spend five seconds furiously messing up the utility drawer your wife organized, and when you don't find the scissors , do a sloppy cutting job with a wire cutter or a butter knife.

    it's the Hampur way

10 pairs a year in Staples, at least, the multi-packs with the red/blue handles.

Thin air. With all the pens.

I found a fabric cutting one.

Oh, and why are my tools I couldnt find in the utility drawer?

They dont go there. I dont care if I did leave them on the counter.

That means I needed them on the counter.

YOu dont decide where they go.

    I do.

And is anything more precious than the wife's sarcastic roll of the eyes when you walk in with the 100 count box of black bics...

Tough noogies, beeatch, then leave me some pens and scissors. I'm putting pens EVERYWHERE!!!!

our utility drawer is freakishly long. even if you are careful, putting your hands in the back results in messing up the highly organized drawer. prompting a response like "This drawer looks like you threw an M-80 in it!"

32- this has been going on for generations.

I can still recall when I was a child my mother asking accusitorily a least twice a week--"Who took my good scissors?"

The worst is when you upset the tiniest, most benign-looking thing, usually a 12-inch ruler, and you think you put it right back where you found it. You close the drawer with ease, but then when it's closed the ruler pops up slightly and it's impossible the open the drawer again.

I gave up on that and now keep all larger utensils in a holder next to the stove. Easier access. The bad thing is, they're now in sight and the wife tries to sneak the wooden spoons into the dishwasher.
