Pedroia likely done for the season

According to Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe, second baseman Dustin Pedroia (foot) is likely to be shut down for the rest of the season.
Pedroia attempted to come back early from a fractured foot but was unable to play through the lingering soreness. The Red Sox still have aspirations of clinching the American League Wild Card this season, but they are well aware of the second baseman's long-term value to the club. He turned in a .288/.367/.493 batting line and 12 home runs over 302 at-bats this year. Aug. 26 - 5:00 pm et

All I know is I give Boston props for hanging around with all the injuries they have had, the baztids. They should have been dead and buried by now and they are still in the discussion.
