Good Food Places Near Yankee Stadium

    Hey Guys,

I'm going to the Yankee game tonight and I'm completely unfamiliar with the area.

Any suggestions on good places to get something to eat before/after the game?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Because those places are overpriced and serve $hit food considering the amount of $ one lays out.

If you want REAL Yankee Stadium food locales, try the following:

Yankee Tavern & Bar: 72 E. 161st St. Get the Cheese Hero, DAMN good.

The Feeding Tree: 892 Gerard Ave. REALLY good and cheap West Indian food, Rice & Peas, Jerk Chicken, Oxtail and it's about $5-$7/plate. Best value in that area.

Giovanni's Italian. 579 Grand Concourse. Real solid Italian food in an area where there isn't much else within walking distance.

Stan's Sports Bar. 836 River Ave. Place just kicks ass and is OOOOOOLLLLLDDDDD school.

    Hope this helps and enjoy!

Nice food review, chief. My friends and I have eaten at the Feeding Tree a few times before a game and the food is good. Not the best Carribbean food I've ever had, but still good.

I'm a fan of The Feeding Tree myself. The Spanish place is alright too - something Rojo I believe it's called. The pork was a bit dry, but I threw some hot sauce on it and all was good - and they give you a ton of food.

Helped tremendously. Went to the Feeding Tree. Really good Jamaican food.

Thanks a lot for the suggestion. Great game tonight too.
