reports from their practice yesterday was that the top line on the ice was Parise Zajac and Kovy, with Elias Arnott and Langs as the second line. Very interesting, Zajac will have a ton of assists if that combo sticks together

Yes, it certainly would. I was hoping to see the Parise-Zajac-Langs line stick together, but I'm willing to see what these combos do, if this is what it looks like opening night. I am excited to see Elias and Arnott reunited.

    Impressive stat from tonight...

All 3 Devils goals were scored on Philthy's starting goalie.

Devils Ranger preseason game on tonight at 7 on MSG plus. This will be the first game for Marty and for the Parise-Zajac-Kovy line. Also first action for RW Mattias Tedenby who was a top draft pick a year ago. There could be a bit of a youth movement going on this year on the 4th line and final D pairing.

I was at the opener last night...tough way to start the season, but not as bad as last years opener (5-2 loss the the flyers). I actually felt good about the offense. The Parise Zajac Kovy line is sick, and Arnott and Elias were working well together right out of the gate. I like Volchenkov, Tallinder was meh and of the two rookie D men Urbom was pretty solid while Toarimina was pretty bad. I wouldn't be surprised if Corrente gets called up early on. They get the Caps tonight, can probably watch 2 periods before the Yankee game starts. LETS GO DEVILS

Well, certainly not a good start to the season.

Didn't get to see the game today because of class. What was with them dressing only 9 forwards and 6 defensemen?

Well opening night they dressed 20 (11 forwards and 7 defensemen plus 2 goalies) guys...everyone under the cap. Then Volchenknov took a puck to the face and broke his nose(out for a week) and Rolston got hurt with a sports hernia(not sure how long he will be out), finally Leblond got suspended and then waived.

I can't remember a season starting this bad in a long time. It's early but every point counts. They actually played the Pens well yesterday short handed. Having Volchenkov out is the killer, he is clearly the top D man on the roster. They signed Adam Mair I think with LeBlond gone so tomorrow vs Buffalo you will see this...

    Parise Zajac Kovalchuk
    Elias Arnott Langenbrunner
    Zubrus Pelly Clarkson
    Mair

    Greene Urbom
    Tallinder Fraser
    White Taromina

.....yikes. Tough opponents in the early part of the season will not help them out.

Gotcha, thanks for the clarification. Have only been able to watch the first game out of the 3. Hopefully they can get the ship straightened quickly.

Pens off the shneid vs the Devils. If they won even one of their games vs NJ last year, they would have won the Atlantic division.

Yea, he definitely has some offensive ability, something that doesn't usually get to be fully utilized by defensemen on the Devs. Good skater, puck handler, and passer.
