    A start? Joe McKnight?

4 carries for 12 yards no fumbles in mop up duty.

What do the say, the journey of 1000 miles is started with the first step?

Kill him all you want, I'm not giving up on him.

Certainly not for Danny Woodhead or Chauncey Washington.

Or Leon 1 carry for 1 yard today Washington.

I thought McKnight ran well with his carries. He did something we never saw in the preseason: disappear into the pile and carry it with him. In the preseason he would go into a pile and he would end up coming out the back going in reverse.

    he didn't puke or fumble.

    i'd say he's ready

I just loved to see him in the game, because that meant the game was over and out of reach!

I'll keep his jersey right next to Gholstens!:D

He definitely looked as if he had more confidence and explosion coming out of the backfield. Rex also claims he played very good on ST's, I'd be interested in getting more feedback from the coaching staff of his performance.

I'm a USC guy so I would love to see him do well. Hopefully he's focusing and working hard and will improve with time.

He has a freakish load of talent so for him to play and not have anything go wrong will bode well for us.

Anyone hear about Rex saying Mcknight could make a good CB?

They thought it was a joke, but he was serious.

McKnight does have talent, and when you use a 4th round pick you have to give him ATLEAST 1 year before you cut him, its way too early to say he is a bust or a bad pick.

LOL seriously :D I wonder if the progress being made by McKnight is even more substantial that the progress being made by Vernon?

Given that at that stage in the game, everyone knew the Jets were just handing it off and pushing the pile, his carries were pretty good. OK, his stat line looks so so (avg 3 yards) but you could see that pretty much every Bills player was crashing the line and ignoring the pass.

Geez, if he could have 15 CB's on the team he would.

It was a small step, but McKnight did look better. No dancing behind the LOS, he ran fairly well inside against 8 man fronts. A decent start.

Of course he would. He's a blitz-happy defensive coach.

THe amount expected out of McKnight is a bit bizarre. Do you know how many rookie RBs drafted in the middle of the draft (Round 3 - 5) had 100 carries last year?

    1.
    Shonn Greene.

Do you know how many had 100+ Yards last year?
    3.

    Shonn Greene
    Glen Coffee (Retired)
    Javon Ringer

Of the 24 RBs drafted in rounds 3-5 since 2007 only 8 have 500+ rushing yards for their career.
I get that McKnight is supposed to be dynamic, but wow. he expectations on him are inexplicably high for a 4th round pick.

I think it may be important, because I have a concern about LT getting a few too many carries, it is a long season.
