Man, on paper it looks like a nightmare defending against the Jets

Just taking a look from an opponent's perspective, you've got a stout offensive line with the likes of Mangold, D'Brick, and Woody protecting an emerging star QB in Sanchez. At the QB's disposal are former NFL MVP LaDainian Tomlinson, Super Bowl MVP Santonio Holmes, stud WR Braylon Edwards and the NFL's best performing TE in Dustin Keller. Watching from the sideline and ready to come in are Shonn Greene, Jerricho Cotchery and Brad Smith.

Schottenheimer has been mixing things up great in recent weeks. We're very balanced and I'd hate to have to defend against the Jets. Last year the formula of opponents was clear (even if it didn't always work) - try to limit the Jets rushing game or get to a little bit of a lead and then pressure Sanchez into mistakes. Now that Mark has matured and is making tremendous decisions with the football, it's extraordinarily difficult to bank on a strategy of "wait for the rookie Sanchez to implode."

The Jets point totals the past 3 weeks: 28...31....38. This offense is rolling.

Kudos to Schott, Sanchez and Co.

The TD to Braylon was a thing of beauty. It was pound pound pound then....Oops, our faster, stronger WR is going to pull a double move, while your D-line gets no push, and bam...you're embarrassed.

Considering the Jets are 3-1, the suspension of Holmes may have been a blessing - Keller has blossomed into a top receiving TE. Now that Holmes is back, teams really won't know who to cover.

As with any situation, injuries will tell the story.

The true beauty of this point production is the fact that we have't had many short fields to play with. The defense hasn't provided us many short fields. Cromarties int on Brady was spotted at our own 2 yard line. The majority of our drives have been long time consuming and methodical. That is how you frustrate the good offenses in this league. We will need to do that on Monday night and against GB and NE in order to be successful.

Holding the ball for over 40 mins really helps our D, especially with them missing argueably our best 3 players on that side of the ball.

Well, the Jets are so elite and explosive one can't help but cautiously predict a lopsided win yet expect to be prepared for a close contest.

    Extremely!

And I'm really just trying to counterbalance the volume of negative threads following Week 1. We're still chipping away but getting close to break even. :D

Funny, wise ass. :P But Santonio has only seen paper so far this season. The O has looked great but penciling in Santonio at WR1 and watching our opponents slide help over to their CB2 on Braylon will be interesting to watch.
