Odd, what I see is a 40% rate of 10 win seasons since 2001.
Don't forget to mention that the Jets have had only 3 losing seasons since 1997. That's 78.5% winning seasons.
I know that Rex would love to finaly bury the notion of the "Same Old Jets", but I'd be more interested in finally being rid of the Same Old Jet Fans. It's like you people live for failure and strain to look for the negative in any situation. Newsflash, the Jets are good, very good.... and will be for a long time. Get used it. If your looking for a team that underachieves and collapses just when enrything seems to be going their way, I believe you should be rooting for the other tenant of the New Meadowlands... The Same Old Giants.
The Jets played 14 game seasons until 1978.
2 seasons '82 and '87 were strike shortened w/ only 9 played in 1982.
In the history of the AFL, only 6 teams made it to 12 wins and 2 of them OAK and KC had 12 the year the Jets won the SB w/ 11.
Is that championship tainted because the Jets had fewer wins than other teams/1998 Jets? Or do they get an asterisk for greater win %?
Perfect example of the particularly virulent strain of SOJF known as Yankee-Jet Fan that pollutes rational thought - unless the Jets have the most regular season victories in the league they've underchieved/sucked before the playoffs even begin.
Ask the '07 16-0 Patriots how their "President's Trophy" looks in the case.

Actually, it's the Met-Jet Fan that pollutes rational thought (see Benigno, Joe).
Being a Met-Jet fan is a double stomach punch with all that is bad that has happened in the past. Met-Jet fans have no successful team outlet like Yankee-Jet fans do.
[QUOTE=buldogg69;3873105]and this is the 1st time back to back 10+ win seasons.
Keep worrying about the past and you will never see the future
History is more or less bunk.
Henry Ford (1863-1947)
The times they are a-changing.
I guess you are counting the playoffs, but they also won 10 games in 1968 and 1969, and again in 1985 and 1986
Assuming they do make the playoffs, this will also be the only the 5th time they make the playoffs in consecutive seasons. (1981 and 1982, 2001 and 2002). They have never made the playoffs in 3 consecutive seasons. They have also never won playoff games in consecutive seasons.

... this is what you should look at for regular season instead ... win % ... as you discount the times there were 12 game or 14 game seasons strictly looking at total wins ...
... also, making the dance is important ... what you do at the dance is what legends are made of ...
... so far, rex, mark & co have made a pretty impressive mark in their 1st year ... if they are able to build on their post-season victory total this year it won't mean $h*t if they finish 10-6, 11-5, or 12-4 ...
