Thread: Why in gods name is Clemmens not the back up?

Why in gods name is Clemmens not the back up?

I understand why we brought in Brunnell. I think he is a great influence for Sanchez.

But he could do that as the #3, I think we would ALL much rather have kellen in there...

I didn't realize it was August

Why would anyone be that confident in Clemens over Brunell? How much of Clemens sucking do you have to see?

It was a stipulation before he signed that he would have the 2nd spot uncontested..

Because he has a stronger arm, has played the system for 3 years longer then brunnell, and has actually started, played in, and won a game for this team in the past 2 years.

Clemens is not a starter in this league, and id love to see us upgrade the position, but I dont see how he is a better option then a 40 year old guy with a very weak arm, who hasnt taken a hit in 2 years.

If Mark couldn't go I bet Clemens would be in after a series or so with Brunell..

Maybe because Clemmens doesn't play for our team.

    Last 4 NFL Seasons:

Brunnell has completed 16 of 31 passes total.

0 pass attempts in 2007 and 2008. 15 last year and 1 this year. Not sure how we could possibly be more comfortable with his "veteran savvy" over clemens at this point.

Just run the Seminole every play.

I'm pretty sure Brunell is the #2 in name only. If push comes to shove and Sanchez can't go on Sunday, Kellen will start on Sunday.

I think brunnell would start and clemens would finish.

Kellen is by no means a good QB, but he's a much better option than Brunell at this point.

I agree. Get clemens in there. Hes at least young. Brunell is a joke at this point. He will be knocked out by the 2nd quarter.

    I prefer Clemens.

But no chance he plays over Brunell.

Brunell has the Vet thing going, so the hope is he can manage the game, dink and dunk enough to keep the D semi-honest, not make mistakes, and allow the running game (lol) and D (lollol) to win it for him.

Only way Clemens plays is if Brunell gets hurt.

Gee have you ever seen Clemens play with a team that had a good OL? rb? healthy receivers? A man with your brilliant ability to evaluate football personnel should be getting paid by a pro team. Please call the Jets and apply for a job as a talent scout. With you on the job the Jets will always be supplied with a supply of great talent. Thanks.:D
