Thread: A Lot Less Tomlinson, A Lot More Greene

    LT is done

A great career but there's no way anyone would pick him up next season. He is killing us since mid-season. I think McKnight might be a better option for the remainder of the season. If only rex/tanny had the balls to keep woodhead and chose jones over lt, and not drafted mcknight at all, we wouldn't be in this mess.

Love the guy but he looks shot...

Same as Jason Taylor, only that I hate him but he's shot too...

A Lot Less Tomlinson, A Lot More Greene

Please. Tomlinson is done and Greene is getting hot just like the end of last year. Only have LT in as a third down back. I can't believe LT kept getting the ball in the second half.

    Agreed.

    I'd go a step further:

    Greene >50%

    L.T. = 25%

And get those fresh rookie legs involved at 25%

Age, plus being ridden too hard early in the season. Not his fault, but Greene should be getting more carries per game now, by a wide margin.

I concur...there were some points in the game where i was shocked LT was still out there...greene ran like he did in the playoffs last year today...id love to see him get more touches, which should happen when january rolls around

True, he does get a bit of a rush at times. He shouldn't be covering RBs out of the backfield like he did today on one embarrassing play.

Having another fresh legged scat back similar to LT on the roster would be nice.

We have one, his name in McKnight.

All comes down to having a Head Coach with the balls to sit LT and give McKnight some carries, and give Greene the majority of carries.

    McKnight > L.T. right now.

Agreed, and it's not close at this point. All we should have LT on the field for is 3rd downs where his blitz pickup and receiving skills will be utilized. He can't be trusted to reliably get yards on the ground.

I was thinking more along the lines of someone that could handle the role of feature back. Maybe someone who could get around combined 800 yards in 12 games(5.1 avg rushing/11,2 avg receiving) and 5 TDs.

Those guys are hard to come by though. They don't just fall in your lap.

    Greene 12 carries 70 yards 5.8 Avg.
    LT 13 28 2.2

How does LT get more carries today? I don't understand?

Im not gonna say you're because we haven't seen enough of McKnight to judge either way...but we cant say that we know FOR SURE that hes better than LT right now, regardless of how slowed down LT has become

the coaches see this. just biding their time to feature Greene just like they did last year. no worries.

Maybe get Mcknight some carries next week and see what he has.

    Has to be the plan.

I don't want to see LT on the field anymore this season.

If you actually think Woodhead would have those stats in our system, I have a large bridge to sell you.

Whats done is done. Man up and move on.

I agree Greene should be starting and getting the majority of the carries over LT. I have thought this for 7 weeks now. But why should McKnight get the carries over LT. Lt had a few decent runs versus the Bears.
